As a volunteer for the West Texas Food Bank for several years, I wanted to make an even more significant contribution. As someone who has been blessed to have never faced food scarcity, I felt the need to contribute and use my resources to help those who have; I am hoping this fundraiser can be a way to do so.
The West Texas Food Bank feeds hungry children, families, and seniors in West Texas; this population forms part of the estimated 5 million people experiencing food insecurity in Texas.
